Looking to the future, Queensland’s workforce must be ready to respond to a broad range of priorities – whether they stem from traditional industries, new and emerging sectors, or transformational events, such as the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We need more people with the right skills to meet those workforce priorities and support future growth.
The Queensland Government has launched The Right Skills Strategy 2025–2028 to build a highly skilled workforce and support more than 430,000 job opportunities by 2028.
Through more than $5 billion of investment, the strategy will:
- strengthen engagement and collaboration with industry and stakeholders
- grow diversity in the training system with more high-quality providers
- deliver state-of-the-art TAFE infrastructure
- support the next generation of teachers and trainers
- expand training opportunities across regional Queensland.
Collaboration is central to this work. By partnering with industry, providers, and communities, the strategy will create clear career pathways and address skills gaps in key areas such as healthcare, housing, manufacturing, and construction.
The Queensland Government invites you to share the strategy, promote career opportunities, and identify ways to collaborate.
